StackVote (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal data when you use our website and services at stackvote.app.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information:

When you sign up for StackVote, we collect your email address and optionally your name or login provider (e.g. GitHub or Google). This is managed securely through Supabase Authentication.

Feedback Activity:

If you vote on or submit a feature request, we may associate that interaction with your email address or anonymized browser session (via cookies or hashed identifiers).

Payment Information:

When you upgrade to a paid plan, payment details are processed securely by our billing partner (Stripe). We do not store full credit card numbers or billing credentials.

Automatically Collected Data:

We use analytics tools (like Google Analytics or Vercel Insights) to collect anonymous data such as browser type, page views, and referral source to improve performance and usability.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Authenticate your account and manage your subscription.
  • Send transactional emails (e.g. vote confirmations, feature updates).
  • Notify you of product updates, releases, and roadmap changes.
  • Monitor usage trends and improve product functionality.

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.

3. How We Share Your Information

We only share your data with trusted service providers as needed:

  • Supabase - authentication and database storage.
  • Stripe - secure payment processing.
  • Resend - transactional and notification emails.
  • Analytics providers - to help improve our site and experience.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

4. Data Retention & Security

We retain your data as long as your account is active or needed to provide services. We take reasonable measures to protect it against unauthorized access, including encrypted storage and limited access controls.

However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection.

5. Your Rights & Choices

You can update your account details or delete your account at any time from your dashboard.

You can also opt out of non-essential emails via unsubscribe links or by contacting us at support@stackvote.app.
